Venini Fazzoletto Glass Vase

Does it move with the wind? Will it move when I blow on it? Shall I try? Fazzoletto (‘Handkerchief’) is one of the first works designed by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini and is created by a master glassmith with a soft, but firm, sweeping gesture.

A gesture that is art, magic, poetry and pride, as it has become part of the permanent exhibits at the MoMA in New York.

Monofiori Balloton Glass Vase

It looks soft, but it's glass. The optical illusion is couched in its name: Balloton, the traditional glassblowing technique that recreates the matelassé look on the surface.

A fine lip in a contrasting colour hot-worked around the mouth of the vase shows the glassworks’ signature style.

crizu_folded-_paper_sculpture_design_hand_made_italy_lantern_4.jpg

Crizu Unique hand folded paper book sculptures as functional home decor.

Old books a second chance: all pages are folded by hand, one by one, with art and patience until and old volume is transformed into a new and marvelous paper sculpture. Old manuals and encyclopedias are reborn into sophisticated pieces of design. The shape changes, but the book remains intact: it can still be read and scrolled through or, more simply one can admire it’s metamorphosis in an object of art and design. Old, but new. Poetic in it’s simplicity.
